The Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “G. Natta” of Politecnico di Milano gathers about 100 researchers and professors who work in different research fields of chemistry, materials engineering and bioengineering. TissueGraft actively collaborates with prof. Silvia Farè and the Be2fore Laboratory, Biomaterials and Biofabrication for regenerative engineering. The laboratory mainly deals with the synthesis and modification of synthetic and natural polymeric materials, the fabrication of scaffolds for applications in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering fields through traditional processes, electrospinning and additive manufacturing, and morphological, chemical. physical and mechanical characterization.

ISALIT is a spin-off of the Department of Science and Technological Innovation at the University of Piemonte Orientale. ISALIT has an equipped chemical laboratory with an high resolution mass spectrometer: the system comprised micro-liquid chromatography (Eksigent Technologies, Dublin, USA) interfaced with an high resolution 5600+ TripleTOF (AB Sciex, Concord, Canada ).
The instrumentation is particularly suitable for qualitative and quantitative proteomic analysis (with the label-free SWATH-MS mode) for metabolic analysis and for non-target studies and biomarker discovery. The system can also use the SWATH-MS for pseudo-MRM analysis on target proteins.
This instrumentation enables quantitative and qualitative analyses with extraordinary accuracy and sensitivity of biological, food and environmental samples. The ability to carry out rapid screening of many metabolites and proteins through HPLC-HRMS coupled with statistical data processing allows the identification of new bio-markers, drugs, and other molecules of interest. The analysis of biological fluids such as blood, serum, plasma, urine, saliva as well as tissues can be performed.
The ISALIT team uses bioinformatics software for pathway analysis, protein network interactions (enriched paths, biological functions, molecular functions, etc.) and multivariate analysis of large data with commercial statistical software and custom tool for validation of analytical methods and biomarkers .
ISALIT has specific expertise in the field of proteomics and metabolomics analysis and has a strong track record of collaboration with research institutes, universities and hospitals.
